overcoming
circulation constraints while improving functionality and aesthetics. this
1600 sq/ft home required the passage through either a small under-stair 30"
hallway or the master bedroom to the single dual-entrance bathroom. we transformed
this space into a fully functional 1 1/2 bath home, replacing the inefficient
hallway with a central 1/2 bath, and securing privacy for the master bath
and bedroom. this additional half bath protrudes two feet into the oversized
master bedroom creating the appropriate alcove to border a much desired storage
space. this addition is comfortably braided into the house removing all signs
of modification, and creating natural unity.
